Aroma loosens the heart. A spice hideout in a back lane of the Higashi Chaya District

Aroma lights a fire deep in the heart. The life with spices that Inspice is after
The power of spice does not stop at deepening the taste of a dish.
We believe it holds the power to change the air of a life.
Kanazawa, the Higashi Chaya District.
Our shop, Inspice Kanazawa, stands in a quiet back lane, a little away from the noise of the tourist streets. What runs there is a quiet dissonance: the Japanese air particular to Kanazawa, with a faint foreign scent mixed into it.
We set up shop on this spot because we wanted people to experience aroma, a thing the eye cannot see, together with the space around it.
Spice changes the air of a place, and changes even the way the heart is set.
To deliver that sensation, the kind that opens the five senses, the far side of a screen was not enough.
In the shop, so that you can enjoy the act of smelling itself and not only buy the products, we also offer blending sessions, tastings, and suggestions for original recipes.
What we are after is a small step outside the ordinary, standing right at the edge of it.
Not the staging of a special occasion, but something like a small stirring that arrives at the everyday table.
When an aroma rises, the heart loosens.
When the table is set in order, the feelings fall into order too.
What Inspice wants to deliver is not only good taste but a table with feeling in it: gladness, enjoyment, ease.
With spice on hand, the cooking changes, and the mood of the day turns a little forward.
It may be the smallest of changes, but stacked up, it seems to me it changes even the outline of a life.
And so we want to go on proposing a life lived with aroma, quietly and with care.
To days that are fun, glad and delicious.
